Anyone who has been around Julia for any amount of time will tell you about her remarkable relationship with the fae/fairies.
When I first met her, I didn’t really believe in anything like that, but after 24 years of being together, their existence and their attraction to Julia isn’t something I can deny.
It has influenced every aspect of her art and jewelry — not only in the things she creates specifically along fae themes, but in that magic I see in everything she does.
We have something we say around here: that last bit of fairy magic she puts into an art or jewelry creation is what makes it come alive.
It’s like one second it is inert, then she touches it and it becomes a totally different thing — somehow absolutely beautiful.

Living With A Fae Being-Channeler
She never said much about them for our first 10 years together, only that they are real and that they are her friends.
Maybe I was skeptical at first, but then the facts and reality hit me so hard that I had to believe.
We have to turn off our motion sensors on our cameras every new moon, because they go off all night long. And when we look at the video, there are all these orbs flying around her work and her studio.

Her Amazing Fairy Gardens
The flowers in her garden — which were only supposed to grow three feet tall — sometimes grow to ten feet, while insects, birds, butterflies, toads, and all kinds of other life just erupt in her presence.
When we lived in the city, people we didn’t know used to walk by just to see her garden and get their pictures taken by it. Children would come and sit on the step, and we would bring them lemonade while they looked with wonder at all the flowers, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
They stopped having a garden contest in our complex because she won it every year.

She Talks To Animals, And They Understand
I catch her, every once in a while, humming strange songs to her animals and talking to them as she gardens. They definitely understand what she is saying.
She sat our adoptive dog Bear down the other day and told him he would now be going back to live with my son who had been deployed overseas. She told Bear we love him but now it is time for him to live with his first family. He understood, looked at her, and trotted off to my son.
She’s never trained any of our dogs, or the cat, or her parrot, but they always do what she says.

The Fae Love Her Crystals
Her crystals disappear, then reappear days later in strange places — like the time we found them in the bottom of a potted plant we’d just brought home. The crystals always feel like they have way more power when they come back. Then Julia uses them in the jewelry she makes.
They Help Her Heal
She does these mass blessings where people even sometimes report spontaneous healings. She says it comes from spirit, but I also think the fae have something to do with it.
I once saw her heal a friend’s dying horse with her energy magic.
She called on the elements, and the horse who had been down for days stood up and began eating. My friend Ken, who is Japanese, was amazed and called her a word Miko, which is a Shinto word for a woman who does this.
She said it was only temporary — so he could say goodbye — that it was his horse’s time. His horse, Chief, passed two days later, but still, for a time he lived on the magic alone.

What Julia Says About All Of This
I dreamed she was the fairy queen.
People say her work is magical. And I believe it is. I mean, what else could I believe after all I’ve seen?
I once asked her about the fae, and could she ask them to help us, because being so prominent in the light, we have a target on us from the dark. We struggle with all the attacks.
All she did was smile and pretty much say that they are her children and friends, that they don’t concern themselves much about our lives, but are always interested in what she is making.
She said that sometimes they hitch a ride on her work to other places. She told me they may help, they may not, and all she can do is ask.
I had a dream once where I saw her surrounded by the fairies while sitting. They flocked to her like our animals do and she beamed love to all of them and called them by name.
I started calling her the fairy queen after that. And the funny thing is around the same time one of our shaman friends got the same vision and started calling her the fairy queen too.
So some of us around her still call her the fairy queen, or Queen Julia.

Going Forward
I know she will keep going, practicing the magic and art and energy as long as she can. I think what she does is unlike anything anyone else does. Those who feel energies and understand what magic is have always flocked to her creations.
It has been a wonderful, amazing, and unbelievable experience living with someone so closely linked to the fae. It took some time, but I am a believer — like many of you.
