A letter from Julia about your snake necklace.

Dear Friends, 

Spencer once told me that one of my friends, a collector of my work, was a “snake woman.”

This was actually a compliment. She was beautiful, powerful, highly adaptable, and remade herself many times. Her career took many twists and turns, but she always landed on her feet.

She knew many people and once introduced me to her friend, actor Val Kilmer, who discussed with me the similarities between channeling energy and channeling characters he played.

And, incidentally, she had done some modeling contracts where she was draped with a big snake.  It was more than a modeling gig to her. She seemed to really identify with the snake. She was and is an interesting and powerful person.

I myself always had an aversion to snakes. But then again, I often wondered about her power. She was always so lucky. And when I let go of my bias, I did see that snakes are really beautiful and fluid creatures.

They are highly intuitive, focused, and they are able to change their skin as they grow and adapt.

Snakes Are A Symbol Of Enlightenment

In fact, in the story of Buddha, a great snake called Mucalinda protected him under the legendary Bodhi Tree from a coming storm.

The snake also signifies, in Hindu belief, the Kundalini awakening, the ultimate spiritual state obtainable, where all of your chakras align and you transform into a higher being.

This year marks the “Year Of The Snake.” Those who identify are bestowed with wisdom, mystery, adaptability, and knowledge. 

I thought it fitting that I come out with a snake necklace now. I started working on it the first of the year, and it is finally done.

The snake also appears in the story of the Buddha. As he meditated under the Bodhi tree, a great storm arose. It was a giant serpent, Mucalinda, who rose from the roots and wrapped its coils around him, spreading its hood above to shield him from the rain.

The Serendipity Of This Snake Necklace's Creation

Not coincidentally, the week I finished this necklace, Spencer caught a large female bull snake that entered our house from the garden. We gently removed and placed her back outside. At first I was a bit nervous when I saw her in the house. After all, she was a quite large snake. 

But when I saw her beautiful markings and her fluid movement, it brought a sense of wonder and power.

It felt like a sign that this necklace would bring people a profound awakening. In many traditions, the sudden appearance of a snake marks a moment of awakening — a reminder that transformation is already at hand.

Seeing her glide so gracefully was like watching kundalini energy rise: powerful, alive, and unstoppable. I knew then that this necklace carries not only the spirit of the snake but also the blessing of divine timing.

Blessed Under A Sacred Tree

Just like Mucalinda rising beneath the Bodhi tree to shield the Buddha, your sacred snake necklace was blessed under the sacred tree near my studio to bring you all the awakening and mysterious powers of the snake.

There is actually an old ceremonial labyrinth under this tree, placed there by powerful Crestonians long since gone.  Photos of it will sometimes produce images of vortexes invisible to the naked eye, but seen in this photo, emanating from its center and heading North East.

It is a very sacred, powerful and highly symbolic place from which your necklace emanates.
