We’ve all heard about how in Buddhism and Hinduism, the lotus, including the blue lotus, represents your transformation from confusion to spiritual awakening. 

But did you know that ancient Egyptians discovered that the blue lotus holds the key to paradise, to communicating with the divine, to spiritual purity, to eternal life, and even to resurrection?

In fact, a lot of their art depicts the blue lotus, including priests breathing in the essence of the flower which was thought to open communication with the gods. 

The blue lotus was also depicted with the god Nefertem, who rose from the primordial waters on a blue lotus at the dawn of creation—a divine emergence from chaos into order and light.
